Thank you for the wonderful information concerning equal access for home-educated students to participate in high school athletics. It is highly disappointing for our family of 4 home-educated children (since birth) to hear that NCHE is opposing the legislation. NCHE apparently has no idea what turmoil that causes for home-schooled high schoolers who are gifted in athletics. For us, in small AND medium size towns, we have no other alternative than to place our children in the public school system to participate. This is something we do not want to do. Thus, we have to consider moving to Florida so we can continue to homeschool and allow our 3 sons to compete. Tim Tebow has been an outstanding representative for the home school community and Florida did not intrude into Homeschoolers privacy. NCHE should not communicate paranoia when homeschool freedoms have not been hampered by athletes being able to participate.
